m3gaboy, I’ve been experimenting with something similar to your airflare practice, where I’m using the walkover technique to improve my control.
My objective is not to wind my legs much, or throw very powerfully - instead, I just walk over slowly, and only jump when necessary. By doing this, I am hoping to get more familiar with being inverted and improving my coordination when reaching over my head, as well as catching “high” on my landing arm, or my right forearm. By doing this hopefully when I do the full move, I will benefit from this practice.
Between the tutorials I’ve watched, and my practices, this is my routine right now
- conditioning, of course. elbow hops on both sides, holding elbow stands on both sides for as long as I can, switching between sides
- right arm catching control: I try to enter my right arm elbow stand dynamically. I do it from standing, I do it with a powermove entry, etc.
- what I just did in this video, where I do a walkover elbow airflare. I try not to do it really quickly, instead focusing on doing it very vertically, for the purpose of improving my control over the move..
- doing an elbow airflare with tucked legs, like in..
again, my apologies since that video shows up as huge for whatever reason
