Started training left side freezes one month ago, not for flares initially but as a prerequisite for walkovers (for the foundation of 1990s 2000s and airflare)
Tried my first flare recently and got one round of flare. Haven’t thought of that / trained flares before.
Based on my own progression I think the key is to get good strength on both sides (As a prerequisite).
While we regularly working on freezes on our dominant side, the other side is often neglected and the weak side can be the exact hindrance of powermoves. Learning freezes on both sides definitely helps.
Powermove can be obtained with some effort when our body is capable of that with all the prerequisites.
